Meet the Board of Directors

  • Amy Terry

    Amy Terry is Founder and President of The White Horse Youth Ranch (WHY Ranch) Foundation located in Southeast Missouri. WHY Ranch Foundation is the evolution of White Horse Youth Ranch which was founded by Amy in 2007 and located in Las Vegas, NV.

    After wearing many hats during her 26 year career in Philanthropy, Amy has learned the ins and outs of running a foundation, running a non-profit and managing donors for both. Her passion for helping socially challenged youth overcome their struggles has led Amy to this next chapter.

    Along with her husband Curtis and the Board of Directors, Amy will assist similar non-profits in strengthening the foundation of their organizations to reach more children in need of love, compassion and guidance. Amy is also a Public Speaker, Non-Profit Business Coach, Mentor, Philanthropic Contributor, Entrepreneur, Writer and Blogger.

  • Rebecca Mankiller

    Rebecca Mankiller, CNM, CFRE started her nonprofit career as Board member of the Paul E. & Helen S. Meyer Foundation, and helped to found White Horse Youth Ranch in 2005. She has taken on the Executive Director positions in both organizations ensuring the highest level of performance standards.

    Rebecca earned her Certificate in Nonprofit Management (CNM) from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2016, and was awarded the international designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) that same year. She enjoys and specializes in grant research and application writing, with focus on government grant acquisition.

    Rebecca is currently pursuing a degree in Forensic Psychology at Southern New Hampshire University.

    While her experiences and interests may look pretty scattered in a Bio section, they prove that all things work together for a higher purpose and the glory of God.

  • Keri Akers

    Keri has served as Treasurer for White Horse Youth Ranch since 2018 and the WHY Ranch Foundation since its inception in 2020. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Accounting at Oklahoma State University and continued her education to achieve a Master's of Science in Accounting 35 years ago.

    Since her graduation, she has assisted in providing several non-profit organizations with the highest level of full-service bookkeeping and accounting, including: presenting monthly financial statements, preparing annual budgets, managing daily cash flow, and preparing payroll.

    In Keri's own words, she is, "a lifelong Okie" living in and around the Tulsa area her entire life.

    Besides dedicating her life to ensuring non-profits have reliable full service tax support, she spends her free time with her family and taking care of her mom.

  • Valerie Williams-Goss

    Valerie Williams-Goss, PhD, has been working as a therapist in private practice for 23 years. Dr. Williams-Goss is a therapist by education and received her doctorate in 2014. Dr. Williams-Goss joined the Renewing Life Center as a consultant who specializes in consulting in the following areas:

    Family Crisis; Domestic Violence; Reunification; Court Advocate for Children/Families; Consulting for bi-racial children and their families; Individuals - Couples - Families; Athletic Departments at schools and universities.

    Dr. Williams-Goss worked as a consultant for battered women for five years prior to receiving her Masters degree. She specializes in working with families in their own homes, as a way to extend trust and respect, and has had a phenomenal track record with the success rate of her clients. here
